STUCK
Mamie Shi
Intro
Using my current 3D skillset I aim to create a final render of an environment that could exist in tandem to that found in Parasite, a film by Bong Joon Ho. The goal was to create a visual storytelling piece that allows the audience to have a role in interpreting and understanding from their own perspectives. Stuck utilizes similar set design and physical motifs found in Parasite to speak to some of the uncomfortable truths found within the film.
The piece and how it is experiences is expected to be widely differed from person to person. It can just be looked at as a demonstration of 3D ability and pure aesthetics. It can also be deeply relatable and hit home in ways that others can’t even comprehend. It is as much as what you guys make of it.

More Behind the Scenes
I have put together a playlist of the entire modeling, texturing, and comping time lapse for those who are interested in exactly how this is made with software such as Maya, Substance Painter, and Nuke.

I also kept a process blog to accompany this year long project. It’s here where one could begin to see the thought and design that went into this project, with a little bit of fun ranting included! I like to be honest and transparent with my work and I think my blog represents that well.
