Birth

Neena Robertson

This project was created on the unceded and unsurrendered traditional territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.

Birth (2021)

Birth is a 35mm photograph taken out of the larger series titled Hide and Seek, which focuses on the power dynamics between humanity and nature as well as their physical parallels. The images from Hide and Seek were created on the grounds of Beacon Hill park in ‘Victoria’ where a many unhoused people have been residing. This project is a comment on the displacement that the unhoused community has undergone over the past several months and asks us to reconsider negative biases toward nomadic living.
