you initiative is a question-and-answer journaling app that encourages introspection and visual self-expression. By incorporating simple drawings and moments of thought into a user’s routine, we can facilitate identity development

The target demographic for this project includes those who are witnessing their identities shift. you initiative intends to make it easier for people to figure out who they are and encourage meaningful discussions about identity.

Problem Space

People have trouble determining their identities.
Identity formation influences confidence and self-perception.
Discussion is integral to self-exploration.

Ruby Pang 彭惠宜 (she/her) is a communication designer currently completing her Bachelor's of Design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, which is situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, Səl̓ lwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm (Musqueam) Nations. Ruby is passionate about creating thoughtful, research-based designs that allow her audiences to connect, share, and foster relationships. Furthermore, she has a growing interest in designing for social and behavioural change. Her body of work lies in digital and printed media, however, she enjoys any opportunity to incorporate new techniques and mediums into her practice.
