Hans Christian Andersen Fairytales

Christine Mao

A lot of the work that I do is geared mostly towards children or a younger audience but it could also be for adults who are into cute and sometimes whimsical illustrations. Initially for my final grad project I wanted to write and illustrate my own children’s book but I know that I was not capable of writing a story that would be interesting enough to capture the attention of kids. Therefore, I have decided that I will illustrate stories that have been already written. My final project consists of 5 full-page illustrations of 5 different Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytales. I chose Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytales because I grew up reading them and find them quite interesting. With this project I wanted to work on my overall composition of my illustrations and incorporate more details and textures.
